About Dramatherapy

“Dramatherapy has as its main focus the intentional use of healing aspects of drama and theatre as the therapeutic process. It is a method of working and playing that uses action methods to facilitate creativity, imagination, learning, insight and growth.” – The British Association of Dramatherapists

My Dramatherapy Process

An introductionary consultation would be offered of 50 minutes. This provides an opportunity to meet with each other and explore how we would proceed to work together. During this time we can talk through any questions  around topics such as: fees, locations, timings and how the therapeutic process would look.

From here I would offer an initial six to ten sessions to allow time for themes to be explored without the need to rush or add time pressure to the sessions. After a period of reflection the opportunity would be given to meet and explore how to continue with the process. This would include frequency (weekly, fortnightly, monthly) and length (10 sessions – Open ended). Throughout there would be opportunities to review and adapt if needed.
